Warriors almost useless in JQ?
So lately I've been JQing A LOT, I play on the kurz side, and I just use a stand RoJ cap with some speed buffs for the jugger, but i've seen an increase in the amount of warriors there. I don't see the point of them in JQ unless they're trying to kill the turtle (???) or trying to PK, or even trying to troll. They're not that effective as many other builds at capping. So I guess my question is, when you go into JQ with a warrior, what is your goal, and what build are you using?
PS:I might not check this in a few days, so in game responses are accepted. My ingame name is Savier Tor

100 blades+MoP owns cap points, it's like farming raptors. And since it's JQ and there's tons of bodies you can use IWAY for like a minute long IAS with like +6 regen, and you can take a defense stance to help you survive the mine points(shield stance is nice with it's flat damage reduction). That's basically it. That and this stupid W/N bomber I came up with, it's basically the N/A suicide thing but instead of shadow steps you just run in there and die....
I have has some success with shadow stepping hammers to gank guys who are protecting turtles or mines, some success with cripslashing turtle hunters, some moderate success with defy pain to get up into the cap point, but generally anything that will survive long enough to harass a monk that runs into the cap point won't have much killing power, and anything with killing power won't survive the mines...
Did well with an earthshaker thing, now with the new yeti smash and crude swing you should be able to knocklock the cap points for your caster buddies AoE.

I play Jq a lot and have noticed a lot more warriors recently. I asked myself the same question as to why. The answer is, they are bots. The final give away for me was seeing three of them following exactly the same path around the plateau above yellow over and over again, perfectly mimicing one anothers movements.
That and the constant attacking through empathy, insidious, SS etc, though lots of wammos do that anyways, human or bot...

sometimes its fun to play a war.
when i feel the mood. i try some different things and not to cap but just to kill or anoy people. its a game !!! and if i fell like playing warriors just to anoy and kill some people so thats what i do.
anyways to things to try.
warrior/paragon. fully mod your spear and armor to it.
and kill from distance/high ground. go with stunning strike. always fun too daze casters.
hammer war. always fun to deathscharge up and down. charge up knockdown kill. charge down knockdown kill fun.
most anoying defy pain:d normal melee cant kill you. but you cant kill effectively either just a waste of time tbh.
sword. same as hammer only with 100bl.
and you can only cap the ranger posts. if you cant you have the wrong armor.

Tbh I quite like being a warrior in JQ - I usually run a Coward Axe bar. I am primarily player killing, mainly hoping for my team to cap yellow and then I'll take out any cappers which try to take it back. Coward is useful because often cappers will try to just ignore you and run thru to the shrine, but if you can knocklock them (I usually run it with both coward and bulls) then you can keep the shrine point capped for a long time.
Of course it is more dependent on other players doing their jobs properly so its not something I play all the time, but its not totally useless!

In my opinion warriors are fairly useless in jq. i'd much rather have an assasin on my team. Problem is, playing melee is fun, even if it's not as effective as capping. If i really want to win i play roj. if i want to cap, i play bomber. If i want to melee, i play sin. Its that much more fun than capping.

Yes warriors are almost all useless in JQ. Reason? It's borderline PvE and almost all the warriors you see come straight from KC. This includes bad builds and even worse, close to no knowledge. As to capping, yeah 100b+MoP and IWAY are extremely effective, but only smart players can run those since everybody in jq is narrow minded and has the IQ of a 4 year old. Your other point on trolling.. I just lol'd irl. They are so stupid and sensitive anybody can troll them, it's a given.
Goal: Personal gain through faceraping bad players
Build : YAA!, Dismember, Body Bow, Disrupting Chop, Bull's strike, Frenzy, Lions Comfort, Rush
Or if you want to play safe run flail. (or grow some balls).....

Sins are just as useless in jq as warriors but i do have to agree it can be fun ganking others. I used to play dom mesmer just to piss off casters but after this past update I can do that, cap, and kill juggs. Mesmers are op now, abuse it until they nerf them again.

Run this.
If you are capping shrines, you could be doing so better on another profession. Either go for cappers, Monks healing shrines, or wounded carriers.

The point of playing Warrior in JQ is to kill other players. Kill them all - cappers, turtle-killers, turtle-runners, everything.
Nonetheless, I do prefer Assassins to Warriors.
PS: Bring a shadowstep, they're quite invaluable in JQ.

I play 100b and its very useful when smash casters like roj monks, crash guard point and helps on cappin quarries. Key is not to use everywhere suggested severe artery and gash - its usless overall as applies DW BUT really sucks on dmg. Standing slash, body blow and s&M + 100b bonus ftw. This set really allows to spam attacks and kill even through block.
wariants are /n for plague touch and /a for death charge
This strategy works for me.
Problem 1 is clumsines in quarries so u need to pay attention not to be killed fast.
Problem 2 is that people go bots on sword w/defy pain which is useless for game but quarantees surviving and faction points and gives warrs a bad name
Problems 3 warrs with low dps output (conditions spam and weak bonus dmg from skills). In reality killing is just a pure chop-chop and doin is asap, nothing more.
Just my 2 cents.

Ive seen so many warriors in JQ that couldnt do enough dmg to kill another player. Guess they just load up on tanking skills and bragg about not getting killed. I dont mind one or two warriors on the team as long as they can kill at a decent rate. It really helps the monks out defending the quarry.

JQ as a format itself, due to mostly the cramped spaces, is just going to favor casters more than melee
JQ's playerbase is so terrible that really anything you bring can still work

I can pretty much cap all the ranger shrines, and sometimes the jade shrines if they are weak enough. As well I'll kill players along the way.

Warriors are more for player killing than shrine capping unless it's a 100bl war.

I've been in GW since proph, & I lately started JQ for amber & zkeys. I run an RoJ bar, but I'd like to point out a couple of things, it's a TEAM effort. I help the team cap faster as faster IS better. & second, it's supposed to be for fun, I LIKE to run my warrior & don't wish to run other classes, who is anybody to tell me I'm wrong after I paid for MY copy of the games? It's not MY job to give you any grief over what you play either. & to the best of my knowledge it doesn't break the EULA to use what you want in GW . . . O.0
